Castor Oil for Hair: What It Actually Does

Castor oil is one of the oldest hair-care staples in Indian homes, and it's stayed that way for a reason - it's simple, it's cheap relative to what it's used for, and it's been part of hair-oiling routines for generations. Ours is pure, cold-pressed and unrefined, made without any external heat.

What it's traditionally used for

Beyond hair care, castor oil is also traditionally applied to eyebrows and eyelashes, and used on skin and dry heels. It's thick and slow-absorbing compared to lighter oils, which is part of why a little goes a long way.

If you want a ready-to-use blend

If you'd rather not measure out castor oil on its own, our Anti-Hairfall Oil is a herb-infused blend built around it, along with coconut oil, cumin seeds, henna leaves, bhringraj, carom seeds and ink nut (kadukkai). It's gentle enough for regular use, and most customers apply it two to three times a week as part of their routine. We'll say this plainly: it's meant to support a hair and scalp care routine, not guarantee an end to hair fall - hair fall has many possible causes, and no oil can promise to fix all of them.

Important: external use only

Both our castor oil and anti-hairfall oil are made for external, personal-care use only. They are not manufactured, tested or labelled for internal or food use, and shouldn't be consumed.
